ULAN UDE, January 21 (Itar-Tass) - A group of hackers has been arrested in Buryatia by the department for the struggle against organised crime under the Interior Ministry of the republic with the participation of officers of the Federal Security Service. The criminal group, which included a software specialist, tried to penetrate into secret files of the Ulan Ude telephone exchange, which contain, among other things, the classified addresses of officers of law enforcement agencies. A telephone operator of the city information service was also taking part in the hacking attempt. The hackers planned to sell on the "black market" the information obtained by illegal means. For the first time ever, criminal proceedings were instituted in the republic under Article 272 of the Penal Code, i.e. on charges of "unauthorized access to computer information." -o- Subscribe: mail majordomoat_private with "subscribe isn".
