The Etisalat Academy will hold a three-day workshop in Dubai on
Saturday to study effective security measures against Internet
hacking. The workshop will be held in collaboration with MIS and ISI,
leading American companies in information, networks and database
    security.

The event will conclude with a virtual debate led by noted information
security consultant Ken Cutler between two teams of network
specialists and hackers. The participants will analyse the latest
vulnerability, auditing, testing and hacking methods.

They will also discuss solutions and security criteria to reduce the
possible invasions in classified, economic and financial systems and
networks to counter hacking. The interactive virtual debate is
believed to be the first of its kind in the Middle East.

Those attending will include representatives from the GCC countries
and UAE organisations such as the Armed Forces, police, banks and
private companies. The Etisalat Academy recently reached several
agreements with leading American and European information security
companies to issue four specialised diplomas.

These diplomas pertain to network managers, database administrators
and IT executives. Meanwhile, the academy is also preparing its second
international conference on "computer forensics and decision-making
systems" to be held in Dubai in October.
