Was listening to CBC Radio news, some additional facts:

Western Digital 30 gig IDE drive (scary, only 30 gigs and 1 million
people were affected, what happens when a 200 gig drive gets stolen,
or someone swipes an entire 4U raid array?).

Apparently an employee stole it with (and this makes me laugh) the
intention of upgrading a home system with this HD.

The police also said they are examining the drive to see if data was
copied but won't go into details on how they are going to accomplish
this.
