A four-day conference on information technology and national security,
which was to be held from Nov. 3-6 in Riyadh as part of the Kingdom’s
drive against cyber terrorism, has been postponed to Dec. 1.

Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Bandar, assistant to the head of the General
Intelligence Presidency (GIP) and supervisor general of the conference,
said the postponement was approved by the Royal Court since the GIP was
keen on the conference being inaugurated by Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques King Abdullah.

Prince Abdul Aziz thanked local and foreign delegates for demonstrating
unprecedented enthusiasm in participating in the conference, which he
hopes will be a big success. A total of 161 scientists and researchers
have agreed to present their papers at the four-day event, to be held at
the King Fahd Cultural Center and attended by more than 1,000 delegates,
including IT experts from the Kingdom and abroad.

A security exhibition has been organized on the sidelines of the
conference.

“The aim of this conference is to enable technology researchers to
employ their expertise for a comprehensive national security system
using information technology,” Prince Abdul Aziz stressed.

He pointed out that the role played by the GIP in organizing the
conference comes within the framework of its efforts to upgrade its
service under the instruction of Prince Muqrin ibn Abdul Aziz, chief of
intelligence and chairman of the organizing committee.
