An email sent to "many" officers contained a hacking program designed automatically to steal stored files if the recipient opens it, a South Korean defence ministry spokesman said. A colonel was among those who have received the email virus since June. The ministry said no classified information had been leaked. "It is impossible for hackers to break into the computer system of our military which operates a separate intra network," a spokesman told AFP. But the North's cyber attack prompted the army to update its anti-hacking software and officers had been asked not to store sensitive data on their personal computers, he said.
