Two executives at Minecode LLC pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District
Court in Seattle to misdemeanor counts of computer intrusion and face
prison terms.

According to the government, president and CEO Pradyumna Samal and
Sandeep Verma, a project manager, face up to one year in prison on each
count after Bellevue-based Minecode and online wine supplier Vinado Inc.
got into a dispute in the fall of 2006.

The government said that Vinado had hired Minecode to design some
features for the wine seller's website, including a “virtual gift shop.”
After the dispute, authorities said that Samal directed Verma to disable
the gift shop, causing a $5,000 loss to Vinado. In January 2007, Samal
went further, the government said, deleting Vinado’s website, email
server and database, causing $115,000 in damage.

The government said Samal and Minecode are charged with, and have
pleaded guilty to, two counts of computer intrusion and Verma has been
charged with, and pleaded guilty to, one count of computer intrusion.
