MUMBAI: Mansoor Peerbhoy, the whiz kid of terror outfit Indian 
Mujahideen (IM), had paid Rs 70,000 to learn wireless hacking and set 
off another alarm in security agencies by stating in his confession that 
eight others were also trained in the same technology.

Peerbhoy, who had led the media wing of IM by sending out threatening 
e-mails prior to in Delhi and Mumbai blasts, has confessed he had 
undergone a week-long training in Hyderabad for wireless hacking, 
website hacking and applications hacking.

"The course was organized by one Dr Laki Qureshi between May 14 to 19, 
2007 in Katriya hotel in Hyderabad and besides me there were eight more 
participants who also underwent the same training," Peerbhoy has said.

Peerbhoy, an IT engineer, was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch last 
year. His confession was recorded before a magistrate and was opened by 
a special MCOCA court here.

According to the statement, in August 2007 Peerbhoy had gone to the US 
for business work when he was asked by Iqbal Bhatkal, alleged co-founder 
of IM, to purchase voice changer software, spy camera detector and RF 
signal detector, which is used to detect voice recorders or bugs.

In May 2008, Riyaz Bhatkal, alleged mastermind of IM, had told Peerbhoy 
that considering the risk in sending mails from cyber cafes, IM should 
start sending the mails through unsecured wireless connections.
