More than 10,000 minutes of phone calls were made from the phones at Sherrill Furniture on Highland Ave. NE from 9 p.m. on Friday, March 5 to 9 a.m. the following day. The company reported the security breach to police Tuesday and the preliminary investigation revealed that the phone calls originated in Somalia. Investigators know that calls were made to Austria, Bulgaria, France, Korea, and the Philippines. "We're not sure why the calls were made," said Capt. Thurman Whisnant of the Hickory Police Department.
