The Rancho Mirage hospital says the computer was taken back on March 11, but it wasn't discovered missing until March 14 when a worker returned from the weekend. A report was filed with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department on March 18, but no arrests have been made. We're told that the records of more than 514,000 patients were on the computer, which listed patients names, ages, dates of birth, medical record numbers and the last four digits of their social security numbers. "The computer did not contain any information regarding the patients' medical conditions or treatments at EMC or any other medical records," a press released issued by the hospital said.
