Forwarded from: Yacine Zemali <yacine.zemali (at) ensi-bourges.fr> CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: SECART 2011 The Third International Intelligent Security Workshop Barcelona, Spain, July 18, 2011 An IJCAI-11 Workshop http://www.tzi.de/~edelkamp/intelligentsecurity/ Note that workshop participants do not have to register for the main conference and can select "Workshop Only" when registering through the IJCAI website at: http://ijcai-11.iiia.csic.es/ Early registration deadline: May 20, 2011 Our increasingly networked world continues to provide new opportunities for security breaches that have severe consequences at the personal level (identity theft, and resulting financial losses), for businesses (theft of intellectual property, or business plans, or costly responses to the theft of customer data), and for governments. Computing and the internet have become crucial parts of the infrastructure of almost every significant commercial or governmental enterprise. Turning off the computers or disconnecting from the network has become tantamount to turning off the power. The use of techniques drawn from AI is increasingly relevant as the scale of the problem increases, in terms of the size and complexity of the networks being protected, the variety of applications and services provided using that infrastructure, and the sophistication of the attacks being made. With this workshop, we hope to encourage dialogue and collaboration between the AI and Security communities. Further, we hope that this will foster a continuing interaction. SecArt'11 is aimed to continue the workshop series started with SecArt'09 in Thessaloniki (associated to ICAPS), and continued with SecArt'10 in Atlanta (associated to AAAI), We try to eventually merge with the AISec workshop series, so far consisting of the following events AISec'10 in Chicago, USA (associated to ACM CCS), AISec'09 in Chicago, USA (associated to ACM CCS), AISec'08 in Alexandria, USA (colocated with to ACM CCS). The purpose of the SecArt workshop series is to bring together researchers with an interest in both Security and AI. The goals are to tease out common themes and differences, identify common problems and their solutions, share experiences with the applicability of techniques from one field to problems from the other, and to identify the key issues to be addressed in increasing the convergence between Security and AI. Author and titles of accepted papers, live hacking and IJCAI hightlights are available on http://www.tzi.de/~edelkamp/intelligentsecurity/acceptedpapers.html Pavel Laskov from University of Tübingen will give an invited talk.
