The Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry plans to hold preliminary contests as early as October, dividing the nation into four quadrants, with the final round scheduled for next February. "We'd like to give the contestants more hands-on experience in responding to simulated cyber-attacks," a ministry official said. The ministry has earmarked 70 million yen in the fiscal 2012 budget for the project.
