    The information in the following Security Bulletin should be acted upon
    as soon as possible.  Hewlett-Packard Company will not be liable for any
    consequences to any customer resulting from customer's failure to fully
    implement instructions in this Security Bulletin as soon as possible.

    PROBLEM:  Security vulnerability for S/X/V Class console
    
    PLATFORM: HP9000 Series 800 S/X/V Class servers.
    
    DAMAGE:   Allows remote users to access the S/X/V Class console via
              the Service Support Processor (SSP/Teststation).
    
    SOLUTION: Install the applicable patch on the SSP/Teststation, or
              install Teststation Version 5.1.2 software on any V22x0
              products, or Teststation Version 1.1.2 on any V2500 product.
    
    AVAILABILITY:  The patch is available now.

    I.
       A. Background
          Hewlett-Packard Company has found that the console server, on the
          SSP might grant remote users access to the S/X/V console.
          This can occur on all platforms running less than Version 5.1.2
          Teststation software for V22x0, and any version for S/X Class,
          and Version 1.1.1 and below for V2500 class.
    
    
       B. Fixing the problem
          One patch exists for all products and is PF_CSXV1007.  Instructions
          for installing the patch are in its accomanpanying .text file.
          This patch package is approximately 312 KB and can be retrieved
          from the Electronic Support Center ftp site:
    
          ftp://us-ffs.external.hp.com/firmware_patches/hp/cpu/PF_CSXV1007
    
          Install Version 5.1.2 Teststation software on any V22x0 products,
          or Version 1.1.2 on any V2500 product.
    
    
       C. To subscribe to automatically receive future NEW HP Security
