I have been moderating Bugtraq nearly continuously on a daily basis for
almost six years now - each day spending anywhere from a few minutes to
several hours handling the moderating duties.

A lot has happened during this time. The Internet has grown incredibly, and
computer security has become not only a national security issue, but also
one that affects many people at a personal level. Yet, the computer security
field has a way to go before it fully matures.

I'd like to thank you all for the learning experience. It has been unique.
I'd like to think I did not do a half-bad job, but you are the judge of that.

Lately, I been wishing I had more time to work on other projects. I have been
spending time working in the Attack Registry & Intelligence Service (ARIS)
    analyzer project ( http://aris.securityfocus.com/ ). If you haven't checked
it out, I encourage you to do so. For this reason I've decided to step down
    as the list moderator.

The new moderator is David Ahmad <daat_private>. I leave you in
good hands. David is a very capable individual. He is friendly, low key,
and does not have an ego problem like ones that seem to be rampant
in this industry. Most important, he is passionate about the list,
its philosophy, and what it represents.

Indeed, David has been standing in for me for a while now with no apparent
ill effect to the list. I hope you'll be as helpful to him as you've been
to me all this years. I will continue to monitor the list and exert my
    influence when appropriate.

    Once again, thank you.
