Subject: Intrusions Detections Systems(IDS) Speaker: Toby Kohlenberg, Intel, will present his research on IDS. Title: "MythManagement and IDS-- Everything you thought you needed to know about Intrusion Detection Systems, but were afraid to ask" Topic: Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) have been used in computing for more than 3 decades. However, they have only recently come into the public eye; and because of this, there are many things about them that are not generally well understood. This talk will review the different types of IDS and the ways they attempt to find malicious events. I will provide a list of references that can be used to get additional information about IDS. This will be, by necessity, a high-level overview however questions of any depth are welcome.
