I am not asking to be removed, the subject reads this way because I replied to msg I received from someone who did asked to be removed. That's why the RE: was added to the subject line. I joined this group two months ago. I attend meetings and have sent email to people in this group, asking about technology that they send emails about. The only person to shared info with me was Crispin. I received lots of email about opinions but people seem to shun the new members or just don't like to share the "how to" information. I am hoping this will change. -----Original Message----- From: Crispin Cowan [mailto:crispin@private] Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2001 3:58 PM To: Ken Emmons Cc: crime@private Subject: Re: REMOVE FROM CRIME LIST Ken Emmons wrote: >People are leaving because our list stopped being informational in the area >of computer security. If they can't manage that, what hope have they against the wiley hacker? Even so, I fully agree that the list needs more focus. It needs a charter. If that doesn't work, then it needs moderation. But a charter comes first, else the moderator doesn't know what to filter. ObSecurity: I've received about three copies of that new virus (I forget the name) in the last 24 hours. No impact on me (Linux mail client) but one of our business guys got bit. Anyone else getting hammered?
