Users of the c2it money-transfer service, owned by Citibank FSB, are
being targeted by the latest e-mail bank scam. Users of the web-based
service, which allows for the transfer of money to individuals or bank
accounts around the world, are receiving bogus e-mails, apparently from
c2it, asking them to provide personal information, including their
usernames, passwords, credit card details, Social Security numbers,
birth dates and mother's maiden names, for security maintenance
purposes. The information is probably being collected for use in
identity theft and online fraud offenses. The e-mails looks authentic
and even have c2it's logo, but they are sent from a Hotmail account. The
e-mail is the latest in a series of recent scams aimed at bank
    customers.
