CRIME meeting Tuesday October 14, 2003 @ 10AM @ Verizon Speakers: Dr. Frank Adelstein Title: MFP: The Mobile Forensic Platform Topic: In this talk he will describe the basic idea behind the MFP, a device to support remote digital forensic investigations, including gathering and analyzing data, in a forensically sound way. He will then demonstrate some of its capabilities. Dr. Frank Adelstein, a senior principal scientist with ATC-NY (formerly Odyssey Research Associates) since 1999, is Principal Investigator on efforts in digital forensics and intrusion detection. At ATC-NY, he has worked on projects ranging from wireless security and firmware protection to red teaming, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing. His interests include security, wireless computing, networks, multimedia, the web, and more. He received his MS and PhD in Computer Science from The Ohio State University in 1991 and 1995, and his BS in Computer Engineering from The University of Michigan in 1988. Before joining Odyssey Research Associates, he was a postdoc in the Cornell University Computer Science Department, working for the Xerox Design Research Center. Currently, he is co-authoring a book on Mobile Computing, with his section focusing on security in mobile computing. C.R.I.M.E. meets in the Verizon (Airtouch) Cellular building (Take I-5 South to Carmen Drive. The building is on the West side [Tigard side] of the Freeway).
