-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 All, It has been made clear to me that several comments in earlier messages in this thread have been misinterpreted to mean that members of this list have a bias against defense counsel. It is a misperception that this "forum" has a bias against defense. While individual posters have their own opinion of "defense counsel", I would not agree that the opinions of a few posters represent the opinions of all posters or that all posters have similar views. I am of the opinion, and it is well established in law, that "counsel" in both civil and criminal cases (on both sides) have certain "responsibilities" to both their clients and the courts. They also have "objectives" to achieve in carrying out those "responsibilities" while in the court room. For any counsel, it is usually in their clients best interests and is one of their "objectives" to prove their case and to do whatever is necessary, in compliance with their "obligations and responsibilities" to the court, to convince a jury of their case. One of our many "responsibilities" as unbiased investigators is to perform an analysis of media in a case and to report the results of that analysis, without pressure to come to any particular conclusion. In some cases, our conclusions will support one counsel's "objectives" and not support the other counsel's "objectives". In all cases though, our conclusions must support our "obligations" to the court. James ********************************************* James O.
