Thanks Mike .. Actually, I was musing more at the concept level, but you caught my drift... I recall that, for a simple 50k utility, CopyIIPC (circa 1988) did a remarkable job of bit-cloning, even to the point of duplicating any errors and/or bad sectors of the original... It didn't care, as long as it thought the media-type matched. Too bad it didn't play on fixed media... for purposes of the thread, that's what popped into my noggin...
