I don't have any time to spend on this.  We are looking at pushing this into
the 2.5 development kernel, so we are working on keeping at/near the bleeding
edge.  maybe others have the same needs and can collaborate to produce back
ported patches, or wait 'til the patch against 2.4.5 ;-)
