extended attribute support--ssetfattr: key: Operation not supported

hai ,

 I'm trying to set the attibute for a file using setfattr but it gives
                                        

                                          $ setfattr -n ban -v 10 key
                                         setfattr: key: Operation not
supported

i have mounted the filesystem with xfs support ,even then it gives the
above error ,please give solution for this problem
(setxattr system calla returns the same error )
