We have had a lot of requests for better documentation,
and are working on an updated tar, and a reposting
of the individual patches with better descriptions of
what they are doing.

EVM is based on the trusted boot support from a Trusted
Platform Module (TPM) chip. The base 2.6.12 and above
kernels have TPM device drivers for Atmel and National
TPM chips version 1.1b, which covers most IBM/Lenovo
Thinkpads and Desktops shipped in 2004 and 2005, and
some HP and Toshiba machines. Dell announced TPM support,
but I believe that they are using 1.2 version chips,
which are not yet supported by the standard drivers.

If you have a Dell with the new TPM chip, we would be very
interested in helping with the draft 1.2 drivers, and
EVM/SLIM, as we have had no testing on Dells so far.

The current package has been tested only on Fedora Core 4
and Red Hat Enterprise 4 beta, as that is what we normally
use internally for client systems. The new package will
include a more robust method of initrd generatation, which
should make it work better on varying installations.
