    I used to use the sh shell script at http://www.xenos.net/software/rotate
    until logrotate came around.  It lets you define perms, ownership, frequency
    and number of rotations.

    I totally agree with this.  If only it was written in a scripting
    language (Perl, Python, etc.) it would be perfect.  ;)
