    Y'know, the whole question about escaping meta-characters, breaking
    lines, and enforcing record boundaries. That _IS_ what XML is for.*
    It's using a hand-grenade to swat a fly, in terms of complexity,
    but something XML-lite which was upward parseable would take maybe
    10 minutes to specify?
