    Has anyone got any good unix shell scripts for log management. What I
    want to do is check size of log, create a folder for the log archive the
    log by tarring and gzip, and rename the log with the date, time of the
    The script will check the size of the log intermittently using a cron
    job and perform the necesssary if any work need to be done. The
    successful log archiveing will send a message to the root user.
