It's not necessary to know who is telling the truth. It is sufficient to know that the claim is being disputed, and act accordingly. You are your own final arbiter of Truth. If you wish to proxy that responsibiilty to someone on a mailist list, I don't see how that's the list member's problem. It would seem to indicate that the problem rests in choosing to believe one side or another arguing over a disputed claim, rather than taking the steps necessary to determine the veracity of the claim empirically before acting. -- Mark C.
