When scanning a diverse group of machines (which have been patched for Q834707), I receive a large number of false positives. It appears that Windows 2003 and XP SP2 use the following registry entry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Hotfix\KB834707 While Windows 2000 and XP (non SP2) use the following (which 10861 / smb_nt_ms02-005.nasl does not detect) HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Hotfix\KB834707-ie6sp1-20040929.091901 Would anyone be so kind as to help me with this? I've been a nessus user for several years, but never have I tempted to go into plugin writing.
