JONATHAN LAMY JOINS RIAA AS DIRECTOR, COMMUNICATIONS

WASHINGTON -- The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA),
the trade group representing U.S. record companies and labels, has named
Jonathan Lamy as Director, Communications. He replaces Jano Cabrera who
departed the RIAA to serve as Communications Director for former Vice
President Al Gore's political action committee, Leadership '02.

With his experience on Capitol Hill and working with the news media,
Lamy will be an asset to the association's media and public relations
efforts surrounding cutting-edge technology initiatives, First Amendment
challenges, legislative actions and international policy.

"Jonathan's strong knowledge of the media and the legislative
process will make a tremendous contribution in our efforts on issues
ranging from artistic freedom to intellectual property protection in this
new digital era," said Hilary Rosen, President and CEO, RIAA.

His half-dozen years of public service on Capitol Hill began when
Lamy signed on as a legislative aid to U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy
(D-Vt.), working first on the U.S. Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and
Forestry Committee and then on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Lamy
then served as Deputy Press Secretary, where he worked closely with the
news media to advance the Senator's agenda.

Lamy then was Press Secretary to U.S. Congressman Marty Meehan
(D-Mass.). As an on-the-record spokesperson for an active member of
Congress, he also worked closely with state and national media on a
       variety of issues.

"We are very excited to have Jonathan join our team," said Amy
Weiss, Senior Vice President, Communications. "He brings great
experience from his years on Capitol Hill and will be a wonderful asset
       to the RIAA."

Most recently, Lamy served as Press Secretary for the nation's
largest anti-hunger advocacy organization, Bread for the World. Working
with local and national the media to push the 45,000-member
organization's legislative agenda, Lamy was also a key advisor on
legislative, political and public relations strategy.
