Terry Hillard has unplugged Internet access from most of the department's 3,200 computers after an internal investigation turned up child pornography on two computers. Officials said they do not believe there is a porn ring in the department. Still, the breach "disgusted" Hillard, who last Friday temporarily shut down the department's Internet access at nearly all department facilities. The child porn images were found on computers at the Wood District station on the Near West Side and the Calumet Area headquarters on the Far South Side, sources said. The probe has identified the officer who allegedly accessed the child porn image in one case, sources said, but it could not be learned what the investigation turned up in the other. No disciplinary action has been taken against any officer so far, police said.
