He touts "more efficient production" and "expanded services" if this ownership takes place. What about the checks and balances that local press agencies have against one another? This might not be a big deal; here in Columbus, there is one conglomerate that owns the city's biggest newspaper, the suburb newspapers, a handful of radio stations, a local CBS affiliate, and the Ohio News Network, as well as a handful of other TV stations.
