    FCC Chairman Michael Powell wants to allow newspapers to own radio and TV
    stations in their local markets.  He touts "more efficient production" and
    "expanded services" if this ownership takes place.  What about the checks
    and balances that local press agencies have against one another?
    
    This might not be a big deal; here in Columbus, there is one conglomerate
    that owns the city's biggest newspaper, the suburb newspapers, a handful
    of radio stations, a local CBS affiliate, and the Ohio News Network, as
    well as a handful of other TV stations.  They reside here:
