Stunnel 3.19 by Michal Trojnara (http://freshmeat.net/users/mtrojnar/) Friday, August 10th 2001 12:06 About: The stunnel program is designed to work as an SSL encryption wrapper between remote client and local (inetd-startable) or remote server. It can be used to add SSL functionality to commonly used inetd daemons like POP2, POP3, and IMAP servers without any changes in the programs' code. It will negotiate an SSL connection using the OpenSSL or SSLeay libraries. It calls the underlying crypto libraries, so stunnel supports whatever cryptographic algorithms you compiled into your crypto package. Changes: A critical section was added around TCP Wrappers code that is not MT-safe. A problem which produced a "select: Interrupted system call" error was fixed. The use of errno was replaced with get_last_socket_error() for Win32. Some FreeBSD/NetBSD patches were made to ./configure. The local mode process PID is now logged. The default FQDN (localhost) was removed from stunnel.cnf. ./configure was changed to recognize the POSIX threads library on OSF. The -O option was added to set socket options.
