integrit 2.02.02-beta by ecashin (http://freshmeat.net/users/ecashin/) Sunday, August 19th 2001 18:03 Categories: Security, Utilities About: integrit is an alternative to file integrity verification programs like tripwire and aide. It helps you determine whether an intruder has modified a computer system. integrit's major advantages are a small memory footprint and simplicity. It works by creating a database that is a snapshot of the most essential parts of your computer system. You put the database somewhere safe, and you can then use it to make sure that no one has made any illicit modifications to the computer system. In the case of a break in, you know exactly which files have been modified, added, or removed. Changes: This release includes a couple of bugfixes and many improvements. All included code is now GPL, and external dependencies (OpenSSL) have been eliminated. Runtime options have been added for controlling verbosity and for specifying databases. Hashtbl and file tree walk code has been enhanced. The build process has been improved: a user can tune when mmap is used, and there's improved backward compatibility with non-C99-conformant systems. Texinfo documentation has been added.
