IFS 4.5d-4 (Development) by Patrik Hildingsson (http://freshmeat.net/users/kurd/) Monday, October 1st 2001 11:13 Categories: Security, System :: Networking :: Firewalls About: IFS uses netfilter in Linux 2.4. It features an easy configuration and a DMZ option, logs portscans (limited so they won't flood the logfile), has stateful inspection, masquerading, and general NAT support. Changes: The IP numbers reserved by IANA were updated. DENY_PORTS was cleaned up. Support for running DHCP to the DMZ was added. An option to allow DSL modems to work with dynamic (DHCP) IP addresses was added. A block was added for packets incoming on port 80/tcp if they contain "/cmd.exe" in the payload field. Some extra checks when loading non-standard modules were added. A small bugfix was made for the problem in which the script tried to retrieve DMZ_IP even if DMZ was set to "n" in the configuration file.
