SILC 0.6.1 (Toolkit) by priikone (http://freshmeat.net/users/priikone/) Tuesday, October 23rd 2001 13:05 Categories: Communications, Communications :: Chat, Communications :: Conferencing, Security, Security :: Cryptography, Software Development :: Libraries, System :: Networking About: SILC (Secure Internet Live Conferencing) is a protocol which provides secure conferencing services in the Internet over insecure channels. SILC superficially resembles IRC, although they are very different internally. The purpose of SILC is to provide secure conferencing services. Strong cryptographic methods are used to secure all traffic, and all messages are encrypted and authenticated. The SILC also supports secure file transferring. The SILC is delivered as SILC Client for end users, SILC Server for system administrators, and SILC Toolkit for application developers. Changes: This version fixes the GETKEY command and USERS command reply in the client library. Minor fixes were made in the server. An SFTP server session monitoring capability was added to the SFTP library. Packet processing can be now stopped by application to process packets synchronously. Packet processing is stopped if KEY_EXCHANGE or REKEY protocols are being executed.
