Register.com is currently seeking a UNIX/Internet Security Engineer to create, implement and enforce a company-wide security policy. Responsibilities: + Creation and implementation of security policy + Vulnerability testing and remediation + Routine maintenance of firewalls and router access lists + Ongoing work with system administration staff to keep up with current security practices on all systems + Pre-deployment security review of development projects + Responding to and researching any attempted breaches of security + Periodic consultation with third parties to audit company-wide security Goals: + Review and assess vulnerability of systems and network components + Create a secure environment at all levels: network, server and application Qualifications: + Extensive familiarity with UNIX security, with an emphasis on intrusion methods + Understanding of firewalls and other elements of network security, including Cisco routers and switches, is desirable. + Knowledge of perl.
