Short Term Contract - Linux Kernel - Counterpane Internet Security, Inc.

We need a contractor to help us create a dedicated, secure, Linux sentry. You must know how to modify Linux kernal code, detect OS security flaws and develop software with Security in mind. You will work at our office in San Jose, CA, so if you are not local you will need to at least relocate temporarily. It is a short term contract but you will get to work with people like Elizabeth Zwicky (Building Internet Firewalls), Bruce Schneier (Applied Cryptography), Drew Gross, Jon Callos, Rodney Thayer and others.

    To apply you should possess:

    1) lots of experience with the internals of the Linux kernel -- in particular page allocation, proc file system, and system call handling. We will need the person to make minor structural changes.
    2) experience writing drivers for the linux kernel -- pseudo drivers specifically. We will need a pseudo device driver written.
    3) experience with system programming -- system "health" monitoring, e.g., free memory, process behavior, etc. We will need something put together that monitors the "health" of the sentry box.
