WireX Researchis growing. Wirex (http://wirex.com/ ) seeks a Linux
software developer to help in the on-going development of Immunix (
http://immunix.org/ ) survivability tools. The ideal candidate will have
extensive software development experience in C, both inside and outside
the kernel. Familiarity with intrusion detection systems is very
valuable. Ability to make and modify RPM packages is important.
Experience with distributed network management systems (SNMP, NIS, etc.)
is also an asset. Formal education is not a major consideration; we will
    focus on "hack value."

    Responsibilities:

       * participate in design of new Immunix survivability tools
       * implement new Immunix survivability tools: development in C, Perl,
and other languages as expediency dictates
       * interface Immunix tools to commercial and research-oriented
         intrusion detection systems
       * interface Immunix tools to standard network management tools (SNMP,
         NIS, etc.)
       * security testing of Immunix tools: deploy attack programs from
public sources such as Bugtraq and Rootshell against Immunixed
         products

    Background/Experience:

       * Extensive C coding experience is required.
       * Ability to make RPM packages is required.
       * Perl coding experience is desirable.
       * Experience with intrusion detection systems is desirable.
       * Experience with network management systems (SNMP, NIS, LDAP) is
         desirable.
       * While we are not opposed to formal education, degrees are not a
requirement. we will focus on "hack value".
