SecurityFocus.com is looking for freelance writers - compensation is based on a per article basis. The topics we are searching for contributors on are as follows: Intrusion Detection: Ideal candidates will possess hands-on, real world experience in deploying and maintaining an IDS and are familiar with a wide range of commercial and freeware IDS products (IDS, Vulnerability Scanners, File Integrity Checkers). The target audience for these articles will primarily be system administrators who are looking to purchase, deploy, and maintain an IDS. Therefore, practical 'how-to' articles would be most desirable. However, we are not strictly limited to that subject and topic suggestions are very welcome. Incident Handling: Ideal candidates will possess strong knowledge and experience in the area of incident handling/response. Topics that fall within the scope of this area are the establishment of an Information Protection Center (IPC, also known as a CSIRT [Computer Security Incident Response Team]), what authorities to contact in the event of a compromise, misuse prevention, forensic analysis, security policy development, etc. Strong technical, writing and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to submit material in a timely manner. Those qualified are encouraged to send a list of relevant credentials to ids_irat_private and optionally, ideas and topics for possible articles you may have. IMPORTANT: Please be sure to reply to ids_irat_private and NOT to ahat_private Alfred Huger VP of Engineering SecurityFocus.com
