My client is looking for someone who can manage the Network Security Operations group that provides operational support for the implementation and ongoing management of network security devices such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems (IDS). This organization provides daily operations management, monitoring, and 7x24x364 support of these security components. the group also translates business requirements into implemented firewall rules, reviews and responds it IDS alerts, and provides troubleshooting and problem resolution support for network operational issues associated with these devices. The manager will oversee a staff of 6-10 network security analysts located in the Albany and Boston areas (there will be some travel to the Albany location). The individual should have a management background and the following experience: 5+ yrs with network security operations and in-depth knowledge of protocols (TCP/IP, SNA, IPX, etc.). Technical analysis of security alerts and resolve issues, and provide 7x24x364 coverage and support.
