This position is offered as either permanent or contract WAN Security specialist This global Security and Comms company is in need of a WAN security specialist. Because you will be working on client sites it is essential that you have a Cisco qualification as well as Checkpoint ones. The core of your role will be to resolve, or manage to resolution all security related WAN problems for the firm and many of it’s clients. Main Activities: · Maintain Internal and Customer firewalls · Provide assistance in technical design, configuration and implementation support for the delivery and maintenance of customer and internal network services. · Maintain design documentation detailing their LAN/WAN models and recommend changes in line with evolving products and technologies. · Resolve, or manage to resolution, WAN problems and issues escalated by Level 2 analysts. · As required, support other teams in the delivery of efficient customer service according to Service Level Agreements. · Assist in the provision of pre-sales support and consultancy by the way of design and costing services in a timely and cost effective manner. · Ensure that a professional level of support is provided to customers at all times. · Develop professional and responsible working relationships with peers, management, clients and service providers. · Continually enhance competence in modern technologies by a) Participating in constructive discussion with peers and Immediate management b) Perform industry research via reading papers, magazines, The Internet etc c) Provide input to own career and skills development Planning. d) Attending appropriate training course, seminars and Exhibitions. · Provide on-call support. Essential Skills: · Technical knowledge of Wide Area Networking including security products. · Excellent knowledge and support of Checkpoint products including VPN and SecureRemote · Knowledge of Security Products – (Checkpoint 2000 with LDAP), CISCO PIX, IPSEC · Ability to review Firewall logs for potential security hacks and auditing existing Firewall. · Ability to manage a number of difficult tasks at once and to meet critical deadlines · Strong TCP/IP skills and routing protocol · CISCO CCNA · CCSA and CCSE essential Desirable Skills: · CCNP aspirations · Knowledge and support of CISCO product range, 2500-7500 series routers · Understanding of Frame Relay, ISDN and DDS · Knowledge of HP Openview · CISCO works 3 years experience in Chekpoint and CISCO Jim Cook Account Director - Information Security email: jim.cookat_private tel: +61 2 9492 0113 A.S.K.
