IT Security Officer needed for a large corporation in an economically stable industry in the upper Midwest. This permanent position will provide world-class solutions for their clients that meet the security standards and business recovery requirements. You will be responsible for the following: Security Coordination – plans policies and practices that protect IT and its clients including both physical and electronic security for every aspect of IT business and IT-related aspects for all business units. Business Recovery Coordination – helps staff develop, test, and execute policies and plans that allow them to survive a loss of IT services including every aspect of IT business and IT-related business for all units. Architectural Coordination – facilitates consensus among IT on standards, guidelines, and statements of direction that constrain design for the purpose of eventual integration. Tracks progress and status of legislation and industry standard-setting bodies. Platforms include remote Mainframe, AS/400, NT, and Unix. Must have a BS Degree in Computer Science or related field. Five years plus of IT experience with at least 3 years of Security and Business Recovery. Understanding of Security tools, firewalls, and best practice policies and procedures.
