For the development of our Security Management Station the focus is on the application level, i.e. knowledge of GUI concepts and programming, relational databases (we use Sybase, but any SQL experience is fine) and object oriented design / programming (this is where we are moving to and were external experience is very appreciated). Very helpful for both areas, but not required, is knowledge of cryptography / data security.
