    Job Description
    The Director of Channel Sales will be responsible for 
    all indirect channel development and revenue 
    generation.  The position is located in Austin, Texas 
    and reports to the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.  
    The key objectives will center around ramping to 30 
    VARs and producing$4M in revenues by year-end.  In 
    addition to channel and revenue development, the 
    position will recruit and staff a high caliber channel 
    sales organization in line with corporate business 
    objectives.  
    
    The candidate should have demonstrated expertise 
    developing/managing a national VAR channel for 
    network security products, and consistently 
    exceeded quota attainment goals.  He/She should be 
    a self-starter with the ability to deal with organizations 
    at executive levels.  
    
    Position Responsibilities:
    "	Responsible for the development and 
    management of a national VAR network
    "	Responsible for revenue generation and 
    growth from national VAR network
    "	Responsible for participating in customer 
    facing sales activities
    "	Ability to establish and build senior level 
    relationships with channel partners. 
    "	Coordinate sales activity in conjunction 
    with channel partners' sales force. 
    "	Responsible for insuring that reseller 
    partner sales force is thoroughly trained on our 
    products and services. 
    "	Ability to work with internal support 
    resources to provide prompt issue resolution and 
    data to facilitate the business success of the channel 
    partner. 
    "	Responsible for Interaction with internal 
    Marketing, Finance and operations departments to 
    develop, communicate, promote and support our 
    channel programs. 
    "	Monitor, track ongoing channel partner 
    activities and accomplishments including forecasts 
    of all channel partner business opportunities and 
    challenges.
    
    Position Qualifications:
    "	10+ years of successful quota carrying 
    channel sales experience with security products
    "	Working knowledge of intrusion detection 
    and firewall applications.
    "	Must possess a background of selling 
    network security products/applications. Background 
    with networking knowledge is extremely useful.
    "	Experience selling into Fortune 500 & 
    Global 1000 corporations is a plus
    "	Ability to attract and manage channel sales 
    personnel to support business growth 
    "	Demonstrated experience with high-level 
    partner executives
    "	Understanding and ability to communicate 
    technical solutions 
    "	Very strong communications, negotiation, 
    writing, and phone skills
    "	Bachelor Degree preferably in Business, 
    Marketing or Engineering.  MBA preferred.
