    Security Engineer – Penetration Testing
    
    Sword & Shield is seeking qualified penetration testing
    specialists for the Knoxville, TN office. The ideal
    candidate will have 4+ years of network security experience
    and 2+ years of security auditing and penetration testing
    experience.
    
    Primary Responsibilities:
    - Performing network vulnerability assessments and penetration
      tests for commercial and government clients.
    - Maintaining testing tools and network lab used for security
      testing exercises.
    - Maintaining necessary skills set and knowledge of vulnerabilities,
      exploits, and penetration techniques.
    - Developing custom software tools for security testing activities.
    - Preparing and delivering test plans, test reports, and briefings to
      customers.
    - Ensuring quality service through research and maintenance of
      test methodologies, processes, and procedures.
    - Providing technical consulting for proposals and pre-sales support.
    
    The successful candidate will be both self-disciplined to
    work on individual tasks and to work well in a team environment.
    The ideal candidate will have security experience in most of the
    following areas:
    
    - Prior experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration
      methods required
    - TCP/IP networking and network integration with routers,
      hubs, and switches
    - Programming skills in NT, Unix/Linux, C/C++, Java,
      Visual Basic, and/or Perl
    - Knowledge of database, applications, and web server
      design and implementation
    - Experience with commercial and freeware assessment tools
      such as ISS, Cybercop, Nessus, NetStumbler and "hacker tools"
      required
    - Experience with security of 802.11 wireless LANs
    - Experience with firewall/VPN and intrusion detection systems and
      intrusion event analysis
    - Familiarity with the certification and accreditation (C&A)
      security evaluations process for government agencies a plus
    - Familiarity with DITSCAP and NIACAP standards a plus
    
    This position requires research, preparation, and participation in
    presentations and briefings, as well as travel to client locations
    nationwide. A degree in Computer Science is a plus, but is not required.
    
    Applicants will be subject to pre-employment screening.
    U.S. citizenship is required and the security engineer must be able
    to get security clearance for access to government facilities.
    Candidates with current (within last 3 years) DOD, DOJ, or DOE
    security clearance will be given highest priority. Pay is commensurate
    with experience.
