    SENIOR SECURITY ANALYST: security certification by SANS, CSI or another 
    recognized organization; 3-5 years of security-related experience 
    
    Reporting to the VP, Security Solutions, you will perform a variety of 
    computer security-related tasks, including application security analysis, 
    security software installation, vulnerability assessments and penetration 
    testing. You will also develop comprehensive reports and present 
    recommendations, as required. Your specific mandate will involve 
    performing detailed analyses of specific applications/systems to determine 
    potential security risks; developing recommendations to mitigate security 
    risks; designing, installing, configuring and customizing security 
    applications; performing scanning and analyses to assess specific and 
    general vulnerabilities in a variety of computer and networking 
    environments; and using commercial and general domain applications to 
    penetrate systems and networks. 
    
    Essential Qualifications
    Reading, writing and analytical skills equivalent to a Computer Science 
    degree 
    Three to five years of experience in security-related activities
    Three to five years’ in other technical computer jobs, such as 
    systems/network management and analysis
    At least six years of Canadian work experience
    Security certification by SANS, CSI or another recognized organization
    Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows, a variety of UNIX platforms and 
    computer networking
    Comprehensive knowledge of a variety of security applications, including 
    Intrusion Detection, scanning and assessment software from commercial 
    companies such as RealSecure, Symantec, Dragon Systems, Checkpoint and 
    NetIQ 
    Thorough knowledge of public domain tools, such as snort, nmap, whisker 
    and firewalk
    Detailed knowledge of techniques used by ‘hackers’ to exploit systems
    Excellent oral and written communication skills 
    The ability to be team player as well as work independently and 
    unsupervised
    Strong time-management and project-management skills
    Solid customer service skills
    Possession of a valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to client 
    sites
