    nationwide.
    
    SUMMARY:
    
    The ITS Security Analyst - Controls is responsible for
    assisting with 
    the planning, development and review of both short and
    long-range 
    Information Security strategies. Reports to Sr. Manager,
    System 
    Security and has no direct reports.
    
    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    
    BS in Computer Science or equivalent and 2 years experience
    in 
    information security controls review  OR 5 years experience
    in the 
    information security controls review.
    
    CoBIT, CISA, experience writing audit plans highly preferred. 
    
    
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
    
    Review corporate information systems with regards to
    information 
    security settings and configurations.
    Develop and implement flexible controls review work plans
    and 
    solutions.
    Conduct vulnerability assessments on a periodic basis.
    Daily monitoring of news and security bulletins to maintain
    adequate 
    alertness .
    Maintaining due care through due diligence appropriate for
    corporate 
    environments. Following and implementing Information
    Security best 
    practices.
    Assist in the development, review and update of all
    Information 
    Security policies and procedures.
    Recommend specific improvements to Information Security and
    internal 
    controls.
    Assist Information Technology Services in maintaining
    acceptable 
    service level commitments.
    Provide regular updates to management and end-users on the
    status of 
    projects. Establish and maintain completion schedules, and
    report any 
    deviations to management in a timely manner. 
    Prioritize work so resources are devoted to areas of highest
    risk.
    Obtain a working knowledge of Spherion’s business unit
    products, 
    practices, requirements, and applications.
    Complete other assignments as requested by management.
    
    KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE (COMPETENCIES) REQUIRED:
    
    Proven information security controls review experience in a
    medium-to-
    large business organization.
    Hands on experience in reviewing distributed systems, and
    network and 
    security components; IT reviews, and risk assessment and
    data 
    classification techniques. 
    Previous attestation experience and certifications such as
    CISA are a 
    plus.
    Experience in system and network security, policy and
    procedure 
    development, and user awareness campaigns .
    Experience with SAS standards.
    Strong working knowledge of current Microsoft operating
    systems.  
    Knowledge of Linux/Unix is a plus.
    Demonstrated project management skills.
    Willingness and desire to learn, improve, and contribute.
    Proactive, productive approach to assigned tasks.
    Ability to work constructively in a team environment. 
    Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong organizational skills with orientation towards
    detail.
    Flexibility and versatility to bridge diverse technology
