The RRE will be responsible for containing and explaining the intrusion while focusing on restoring service in a manner that prevents a similar incident from happening in the future. The RRE will be called upon to harden servers before deployment to prevent security incidents. The RRE may be called upon to collect and handle evidence of criminal activity and participate in on-going criminal and civil investigations, including working with federal, state and local law enforcement.
