I am a graduate student of Computer Science at Purdue University and a member of the CERIAS group (http://www.cerias.purdue.edu), focusing my studies on InfoSec. In May, I will be graduating with a Masters of Science and seeking a full-time position in the field of information security. While a student in CERIAS, I have participated in two research projects. The first is called ESP, and it involves embedding an IDS into an operating system (currently, FreeBSD). The second research project is studying pattern-matching NIDSes and trying to make them fail gracefully under DoS conditions. Through 5 internships over my academic career, I have 1.5 years of work experience. The past two summers, I have interned with MITRE Corp. as an InfoSec Engineer and spent time retrofitting security onto the Air Force Command and Control networks and helping design a new network with security built in from the ground up. Previous to that, I spent 3 internships at Motorola as a Software Developer Intern, increasing efficiency in cellular infrastructure and developing simulators and test languanges. My relevant coursework here at Purdue has focused on information security and networking: - Advanced Information Assurance (Prof. Eugene Spafford) - Information Security - Cryptography (Prof. Mikhail Atallah) - Internetworking (Prof. Douglas Comer) I hope that my qualifications meet the criteria for a position you might be looking to fill.
