    Duties:
     
    The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for managing Symantec's IDS 
    Competitive Lab providing for the technical needs of the IDS Product 
    Management group in support of their departmental goals and objectives. 
    The Sr. PM will work with other IDS Product Managers and Engineering staff 
    to develop materials and systems to showcase Symantec's IDS products; 
    evaluate competitor's technologies; provide competitive intelligence; and 
    influence product direction. Duties include:
    Managing all aspects of the IDS Competitive lab including purchasing, 
    deployment and support of the lab?s systems and networks
    Building, supporting and maintaining the PM's product demo systems
    Providing technical and staffing support for Symantec sponsored Marketing 
    events
    Developing/improving ways of demonstrating the capabilities of Symantec's 
    IDS products
    Evaluating competitive IDS products and producing Product Profiles and 
    Competitive Update documents
    Providing technical expertise to the IDS product Management group and 
    facilitating the acquisition of computer resources when needed
    Performing product demos as required
     
    
    Requirements:
    
    At least ten years of industry experience in an enterprise level 
    environment with some management experience in systems/network 
    administration and the most recent experience in computer security.
    At least five years experience as a systems administrator with strong 
    knowledge of Solaris, Windows, and Linux Operating Systems as well as 
    Sparc and Intel based hardware.
    At least five years experience as network administration with working 
    knowledge of industry standard hardware such as Cisco 2924XL, 2948G, 4000, 
    6000 switches and 2600 routers as well as software such as IOS and Cat/OS.
    Must have good communication and presentation skills
    Must be able to work independently as well as be part of a team.
    Must have a BS degree or equivalent experience in computer and network 
    technologies.
    Cisco certifications desirable and CCIE preferred.
