    Primary Purpose:
    
    This is an outstanding opportunity to take a growing security company 
    with an innovative, proven technology and lead the charge at positioning 
    them as major suppliers of network security products in the federal 
    marketplace. Going forward, the Company wishes to broaden its base by 
    building strong relationships with various system integrators and become 
    a recognized leader of network security solutions in the federal sector. 
    The primary charter for the VP, Government Sales and Marketing will include:
    • Assist in the definition of business and product for the federal market.
    • Expand DOD penetration through the inclusion of this company as a 
    network security solution provider on numerous system integration contracts.
    • Develop executive level relationships with key decision makers in the 
    federal sector. This includes both federal agency CIO types as well as 
    system integrator executives from companies such as CSC, SAIC, EDS, etc.
    • Penetrate and generate revenue from various federal agencies such as 
    the FBI, CIA, State Department, etc.
    • Position the product to capture important markets for protecting 
    classified data.
    
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    
    VP, Government Sales and Marketing will be an absolutely critical part 
    of the executive team of the company and will help expand the company 
    into the federal market. This executive will:
    
    • Identify and qualify strategic business opportunities in the federal 
    sector.
    • Assemble contractor teams to provide integrated product security 
    solutions.
    • Generate strategies to make this security company a future leader in 
    classified network environments.
    • Generate strategies to expand penetration of this company’s current 
    security product line into the federal sector.
    • Develop marketing strategies for the federal sector.
    • Oversee preparation of large scale, winning proposals.
    
    Required Knowledge, Skills And Experience:
    
    Education:
    
    An undergraduate technical degree is expected. An MBA or other advance 
    degree is preferred.
    
    Experience:
    
    As the key person to spearhead expansion in the federal network security 
    market, it is expected that this executive will have extensive 
    experience (15+ years) in sales/marketing/business development targeted 
    at various federal agencies. A detailed understanding of selling large 
    enterprise network security solutions into federal agencies is a 
    critical success factor.
    
    • Solid track record of success in the sales and business development field.
    • Extensive network of customers in the targeted federal agencies 
    (‘Rolodex’).
    • Demonstrated success in leading major government proposal efforts.
    • Successful launch of one or more COTS products into the federal market.
    • A current network of corporate decision makers, preferably those in 
    the target partner/system integrator organizations.
    • A background in and knowledge of the network security industry.
